Biography of the ArtistSharron Ott This prolific
artist is classically trained in painting, drawing, holography, and sculpture. Sharron began creating art at the age of 11, studying under the Expressionist Painter, Eleanor King Hookam,
founder of the Elmhurst Art Museum in Illinois. Miss Ott received
a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the School of the
Art Institute of Chicago. As her visual vocabulary developed, she incorporated many disciplines and mediums into her work.
Sharron portrays the reality that she perceives. Many supposedly unseen energies are visible to her eyes. These she translates to her viewers through her Art. The paintings and holograms
serve as guides to other spiritual planes. Since
1982 she has exhibited her art in galleries and art venues. Miss Ott has held numerous exhibits across the US and Canada, with 11 one-woman shows. She has works placed in many prominent collections.
In 1991 she started to incorporate theatrical arts into her repetoire,
facilitation scenic, prop, and costumes for Cirque Du Soliel,
scenic for Steppenwolf Theatre Chicago, and set design for Red Moon Theatre Chicago. This led to Interior Design and mural work, 42 restaurants, 5 churches, and numerous residences display the art
and design work of Miss Ott. She began teaching
in 2008 and discovered it to be yet another area of interest. Focusing on the fundamentals, she believes that it is her job to provide the tools of knowledge to the students, enabling them
freedom to express their selves. She has a steady following of
students who flourish under her guidance. Sharron
lectures at colleges in the Chicago area on the subject of Color Psychology. She instructs on how color and art affect of the human mind, emotions, and physiology, demonstrating
that the process of doing art is stimulating, meditative, and therapeutic.
